Term 1 Lectures

  2. Italian Neorealism – Bicycle Thieves (Assignment question: Identify the key features of Italian Neorealism with reference to De Sica’s Bicycle Thieves.)

Your chosen assignment should be 500 words long and be submitted to your Arts course-tutor.

Essays

  • Essay 1 deadline: 4:30pm, Wednesday 22 February 2012 (OLL reception, 11BP)
  • Essay 2 deadline: 4:30pm, Wednesday 18 April 2012 (OLL reception, 11BP)
  • Word limit: 1500 (10% margin)

Mock Exam

  • The mock exam will be held on Wednesday 28 March (9:30-11:00am)
  • You will have to answer two questions from a choice of five.
  • The areas assessed will include the four essay topics (see above) as well as editing.

Final Exam

  • The final exam will be held on Wednesday 30 May (9:30-12:30).
  • You will have to answer four questions from a choice of eight.
  • The areas assessed will be as follows:

  5. French New Wave: Breathless
  6. Documentary Film: The Cove
  7. Recent European Cinema 1: All About my Mother

  1. In the document with the essay questions, I think you have got the Bordwell readings mixed up for the essay titles. Surely they are the other way round, chapter 8 refers to style and not narrative while chapter 3 is solely about narrative (question 2) I just wanted to clarify with you.
